The North East of Yakushima covers the area from Isso around to Anbo and includes the airport area and Miyanoura. There are lots of things to do and here is a selection.

A small park full of banyan trees which have distinctive hanging roots.

YAKUSHIMA COMPREHENSIVE NATURE PARK

Have a dip in the crystal clear water or spot the odd monkey in the trees on the opposite bank, bring a picnic and chill.

A small museum and information center with a cinema showing an interesting documentary about the nature of the island.
